Community Events

Me Fine Foundation is an award winning local charity providing assistance for families around the world who come to Duke and UNC Children's Hospitals to secure state of the art and even last chance treatment for their children.  MeFine has provided financial assistance and necessary resources for hundreds of families in its 7 year history.  Personally, this organization supported our family when Meenakshi was in the hospital.  Lori, hosting the run on her family farm, came to see us in the hospital and she helped us with everything from utility bills to providing our family with Christmas.  While I was at Duke with Meenakshi I watched ME FINE provide families with airline tickets, pay their mortgages, pay for them to move, whatever was necessary to help them care for their children in this time of crisis without the added stresses they faced as a result of now living in the hospital with their sick child.  MeFine helped to keep families together that were on the brink of imploding under the tremendous stress a family experiences when their child is critically, often terminally ill. They continue to give so much to those who need it the most.  

To support this organization and give back, Farm to Fork Meat will have a vendor booth and many of our partners are participants at this amazing event.  Parker Family is offering a hog to be freshly smoked for AMAZING NC style BBQ.  Outta the Park is donating BBQ sauce for the event and Chef Darryl will be making his own vinegar based sauce so all the Carolinas are fully represented.  This is a whole health event with real food from real farms to benefit real work.  Dean Ogan, owner of Rocky Top Hospitality, is bringing his Tribeca Burgers made with local, grass fed beef and plenty of his Mash House beers for folks to enjoy while they are supporting the runners.  And Whole Foods is supporting the event with bananas, waters for all the runners and supplies for after the race.  Come support this amazing event which will help fund our precious daughter's memorial grant fund while enjoying a healthy day out.   You can also find the event on Facebook and Like the page to spread the word!
